I accidently knocked my lap top off the sofa this morning! ooopss.

The screen has all cracked and has lines all over it....
Anyone know if you can get this fixed and the best place to take it??

It is fixable......only last Wednesday a friend replaced the screen of another friend who had accidently leant on her NEW laptop!!!

What laptop is it? Best thing to do is buy another screen off ebay and fit it yourself or get someone to fit it(only a few screws and plenty of guides on the net) otherwise you will be charged a bundle by a computer shop.

Does anyone know how hard it is to reseat the LCD cable for the screen in laptops. Mine has worked loose (again) and i dont really want to send it away if i could do it myself! Thanks

You can take it to SmartfixIT at Sheffield uni student union (even if you're not a student) they will fix it and very reasonable prices too.

depends if its the bit on th eback of the LCD or the bit that plugs into the board....

screens normally cost from £69 from ebay and I charge £30 to replace it. or you can do it yourself if your confident enough.

remove the screws around the screen bezel and prise off the bezel. the screen is held in place on its side by three to four screws on each side.

remove these screws and disconnect the data cable and inverter cable.

re-assemble is in the reverse order. no need to pay expensive bills.
