How old is your cav? Lotti 20-03-2010, 13:30 I can't even be bothered... just... 'sigh'. FallenAngel6 20-03-2010, 14:05 I can't even be bothered... just... 'sigh'. I know lotti im thinking the same Greavsy 20-03-2010, 14:17 Hiya, How old is your girl? If she's over a year old she should be fine to breed. Aslong as you know she is healthy. Obviously make sure you can cope with it. Do some research into it first. IF SHE IS YOUNGER THAN 1 YEAR OLD PLEASE DO NOT BREED. My bichon frise is 7 weeks pregnant, she can have them anytime from the 26th of March and this is her first time. But I know all the pups are going to good homes and I have the time to care for them. There is nothing wrong with breeding your dog if that's what you want to do. Obviously there are alot of dogs in rehoming centres but not usually King Charles ect. Alot of people really want these puppies, especially pedigree. You will have time to find a good stud as the bitch is in season 3 weeks so if she's only just started i'd look on google. http://www.preloved.co.uk/fuseaction-adverts.showadvert/index-1032293545/7ea79adc.html http://www.preloved.co.uk/fuseaction-adverts.showadvert/index-1032095217/8857d83d.html Go and check the dogs out before you decide to take your bitch to mate with him. They are such gorgeous dogs. I really want one! cavi lover 20-03-2010, 14:51 Trying reading the cavalier club website breeding protocols. You need to do extensive health testing on both mum and dad to ensure you breed the healthiest pups possible no gaurantees but the best you can do. The test are for heart eye and brain problems. These are not just check ups at the vets but at specialist vets and an mri scan. Could you live with youself if you bred pups that had any of these problems. Just cos your girl and potential stud look healthy does not mean they are. People who breed without health testing are the poeple who have landed the breed with the health problems it has. hackylad 20-03-2010, 18:43 My daughter has now found a stud dog and will be visiting him 2moro, oh and by the way my daughters dog has been health checked and so has the stud!!!!
