hi everyone,
just venting my spleen here!
I have a 16yr old with aspergers who has been offered a place at freeman college in sheffield.this is fantastic news it's what he really, really wants to do and for the 1st time in his life he has actually felt possotive about a learning environment.
Now for the bad news, the learning skills council have refused to fund his placement so we now have to appeal against their decission.
I was wondering if any of you have been in this situation and if you can offer me any tips or advice on how to conduct our appeal, we'll only get one shot at this so i am anxious to get it right.

Hi .. does your son have a statement of specail education needs ,, if so then this can actualy carry on for the child to recieve futher education and then it would be part funded with the local authority and the LSC and if your child has got a statement then I would also guess that the local authority also recomended this for futher education ? ,,, only thing you can do is too apeal against it and if does have statement then get a up to date copy and any other support ie, this is what has been recomended by the currant school , the education department etc ,,, hope this helps
