i was doing a bit of weeding in my front garden today when i heard breaking glass. I looked up to see glass all over the road and a white pick up truck driving off. Someone must of thrown a glass or bottle out of the window. Its not quite as bad as it sounds as it was on the far side of the road to me where there is only a grass verge and no pavement. But still as i watched other cars driving over the glass i couldn't help thinking how irresponsible it was:loopy: . Has anyone else seen any thing like this?:suspect:

I suppose the obvious answer is that the thrower is a moron. :)

Seriously, some VERY odd stuff gets thrown from windows - I remember once going down the M1 when someone ahead of me either deliberately or accidentally ditched a broadsheet newspaper. I had visions of it wrapping itself around teh windscreen!

Cigarette butts, sweeties and the odd apple core have all gone bouncing past me over the years.

I guess that you can't legislate for selfish behaviour.

I always find it infuriating how some drivers deem it acceptable to chuck cigarette ends out of their cars on motorways.

These ends inevitably get sucked into the slipstream of the car and so then glance off the windscreen of the car that's following. Worse still if you're on two wheels.

Imagine you were sat in a parked car and someone chucked a cigarette end against your windscreen. How would you react? Why is it so different when it happens at 70?

I'm sure anyone here who has ever been a cyclist for any length of time can regale you with a tale of when some spotty morons threw a can of coke at them as they went past. In their nova.

</rant> Did you hear or read about the child who threw their teddy bear out of the window of a car?

They do it because they are morons. Once walking back from a bar late at night a car sped past and hurled a full beer can at me which hit me on the back. Luckily all the beer inside me reduced the pain

Last year some teenagers threw a frozen turkey down on the expressway from an overpass, landed right into a car window, i think the woman driving died later.

We regularly see Mcdonalds packaging being ejected from nobbedds cars.

But smokers have to be the most selfish.

Why do they tip their ashtrays out onto the roadside at traffic lights or junctions too?
