Hi,does my council house have (by law) to have a circuit braker? I have lived here 8 + yrs and have all old single socket (no switches) plugs witch sometimes shorts and sparkes blúe when you unplug.These houses are due to be demolished in 2 yrs but i was wondering if it was safe???:suspect:

tell the council you think its un-safe and demand a test and inspection on your house.
there sould replace all your sockets with switched sockets and maybe install a RCD board.
it sould not matter that your house is due to be demolished in 2 years time.
