Tis, curiously, true*....

I hope they stay up personally!

I then want us to go up and Wednesday follow us up. It's about time Sheffield took it's rightful place in the Premiership

I also want the next 2-3 seasons see the Blades and Owls go up and show the premiership teams what real football supporters should be like and what a real derby match is. Forget Man Utd Man City, Liverpool Everton (Yawn) Arsenal and every other London team, Newcastle Sunderland??? that's not even the same city!!!!

We have the best Derby game in England and it needs to be in the top league for it to be recognised as that

If thing you'll find that many "sensible" Blades have the same opinion. I'd love for us to win the premiership and you to finish second. It would be fantastic for the city to have 2 topflight clubs again.

I think Wednesday will stay up as well. Some of Sturrock's signings seem promising. He's a very good manager. Listened to your game yesterday and with lots of newbies you didn't seem that bad. And they'll only improve.

Yep I now live 3,000 miles away but, i have put more miles on in my time following the Blades around England than you have following Wendy :heyhey:
The last 3,000 miles being the best when we beat you 3-1 at BDTBL plus i got the added bonus of seeing us beat Ipswich 4-3 in our run to the semi-finals of the FA Cup and Liverpool away in the semi finals of the League Cup at Anfield , It doesnt get any better than that
This thread was just a wind up and to see how many wendyites would bite what with us being the top team in Sheffield and Yorkshire , I remember when the shoe was on the other foot and the Blades fans took all the ribbing. Swings and roundabouts my friend swings and roundabouts.

CHOMP

Don't worry mate, even if he lived in Sheffield he still probably wouldn't go to the games just like the rest of the plastic blades fans. They were pushing for promotion to the premiership last season and we still got more at hillsborough than them in league 1. They're an embarrassment to this city as well as yorkshire if they're meant to be the top team in the region.

I don't think you can quite get it in to your tediously small, attendance-based minds that we don't give a s*** how many people come through the gates each week, we will still be supported better even if you fill your stadium and we only have one man and his dog.

Blackburn had 16,000 at the weekend but i don't see them complaining, becasue they're happy where they are, in the prem. we don't complain either because we're happy where we are, challenging for promotion every year. what does that tell you about the support of wednesday, that all they have to cling to is how many more people are in there ground every week compared with Bramall Lane???

This love hate relashionship between wednesday and united is as old as the teams themselves... i for one will never support sheff utd as i am a wednesdayite through and through, i love the friendly banta we give each other, as long as it stays friendly anything else is just Stupidity..... id love to see any sheffield team do well in any sport or league, yes it makes me smart when the blades do well, but then again when they lose i smile.... but in the whole id rather put up with them than lose them...its a sheffield thing... because at the end of the day its sheffield that they/we represent aint it?

I'll tell you what it tells you about wednesday's support- that we'll stick with our club through thick and thin. The lower down the leagues we go the higher our attendances go. When we got relagated from the premiership we only got around 17,000 at home- now we almost double that figure when we were relagated again.

Pigs hate it, they can't handle the fact that they are a small club with hardly any fans. Plastic fans. I rest my case. So how can you say your better supported than us? What a crap argument you've given.

you almost doube the figure?? well you only averaged 23,000 last season i believe..... since when has an extra 6 thousand been anywhere near double 17,000?

anyways, when you came down you averaged 20000 in your first season in the championship, and 19,266 in your final prem year

so your stats really dont stand for much do they???

either way..... WE ARE YORKSHIRES NUMBER ONE...... AT FOOTBALL

When did I say the figures I gave were the average? We'll see this season if your yorkshire's number one for football- its a shame that you haven't got the fans who deserve it. Personally I don't see you finishing higher than L***s under Warnock i'm afraid.

Had season tickets when i moved back for a year in 1997-98 actually Nez so dont make assumptions, I would be at EVERY home and away match..wendy having more fans go to games than us makes me :D
Shows you how gullable you lot are, paying good money to watch a poor product :hihi:
Lets see how many you get turning up week after week if you stay in the bottom 3 :heyhey:
The Blades an embarrasment to Sheffield :loopy: Funny how when in Canada a few years ago when you said you were from Sheffield they asked if you supported wendy , Now they ask if you support United ..We are now the BIGGER team in Sheffield and the best in Yorkshire, get used to it :P

if we all stop playing like girls swinging there hand bags for a moment and look at the figures of who gets what for yorkshire, i think you would have to say that wednesday are the biggest team in sheffield as on a match by match basis we out strip uniteds support by an average 6000 per match, but the biggest team in yorkshire would have to be leeds.... around 5000 more per match than wednesday.... you cant judge a team on who had more support on one weekend look back over the past 10 seasons and do the sums. United are the better playing team in sheffield at the moment as they have a good manager and a good stable team.... time will tell for wednesday, we have a young new team to build on. Up the owls.

And as for support for those who do not go to matches week after week , you are not supporters of your team you are a fan, as a supporter goes week after week through the good times and the bad.
""Shows you how gullable you lot are, paying good money to watch a poor product""
No not gullable at all mate... just a true supporter.

Its not gullable pal, its called been a true supporter, of which wednesday have far more than united. I've been goin week in week out to all the home and away games for the last 17 years.

Lets see how many turn up if we stay in the bottom 3? We've always had larger attendances than united wherever we are in the league and that won't change- just look at last season pal.

BIGGER team in Sheffield? Do you mean the bigger club in Sheffield? If so, don't make me laugh. Fair enough your playing the better football but the season is young.

I still stand by the fact that united are an embarrassent to Sheffield. For what the club is offering its fans at the moment you're all just not turning up to watch it. THAT is an embarrassment to the city.

As for L***s been the bigger club in yorkshire just look at how their attendances are dropping- 20,000 at Elland Road at the weekend.

why are we an embarrassment? we average 18,000 at least..... we play decent football...... we are going for the premiership..... i think for the position we currently occupy we have sufficient fan base.... leaders of the league reading only average 16,000.

what is embarrassing for the city is though.... the por performance from the blue half..... whats that now? 2 points and 2 goals scored?and you have never looked like winning any of the opening 4 games. although i said weds wouldnt struggle this season, the opening games are making me think different. and it seems that when sturrock has money to spend he dont know what to do with it..... 350k on graham? YOUR HAVE A LAUGH AINT YA?

ourselves on the other hand.... 9 points and 9 goals? 2nd in the league and spending money wisely.... WELCOME UNSWORTH
