Can anybody recommend a groomers that are experienced with cutting westies (and who dont have a 6month waiting list). Our 7month old is ready for his first trim and ive read that using clippers will prevent the double coat growing so id prefer him not to be clipped.
Any recommendations?

Cheers

Try talking to Yupin at Woodseats superpet, We walk several westies groomed by her, there owners have always been happy with her service. Also the dogs arn't stressed.

Pride for Pets at Dinnington are excellent and can book you in within a week. Lots of experience with Westies, adult and puppies, and very clued up and sensible about the best way to deal with particular types of dog coat. Always a good result from there.

We use Paws From Heaven (www.pawsfromheaven.co.uk) - a mobile dog groomers. They're very good and Dougal came out (he was in the van nearly 2 hrs!) looking smashing - definitely my favourite dogcut so far (it was the first time we used PFH).

Here's some pics taken a week or so after the cut (ignore the mess he's surrounded by - was having a clear out/Ebay session):
