I went through a tricky conversion from XP, having previously turned my back on Vista. I was expecting it to be miles better than XP and I don't think it is but after a couple of weeks cursing it, I'm ok with it now. Moving from Office 2003 to Office 2007 was more of a trauma. They are so different but I am pleased I persevered even if I can only open one Access database at a time now.

I've been using it since it was officially released having used XP for years previously. No real problems at all and I wouldn't go back to XP now.

I quite like it, but the number of times I've had to power down using the button is getting beyond a joke. The last time was when it hung on a black screen after I left Avira scanning, and it wouldn't recover from it. The only thing I could do was a hard reboot.

Like I say, I've had numerous instances of having to button the PC to shut it down with W7. Otherwise though it's a good system. Needs it's service pack imho though.

but how do you compare it to ubunto ryohazuki? (can see ubuntu badge as your avatar)
ive been using ubuntu and only had very slight problems with it but it sometimes seemed hard work to get somethings running
got chance to get win7 for £13 from acer so took it and so far seems just as fast and stable as ubuntu

Yeah, I do want to try it at some point, I think I'm beyond the point where I want to pay Microsoft for their software though - especially since I'm pretty sure they're getting cagey about transferring a licence between machines. Pretty sure the shift I make from XP is going to be to Mint Linux fulltime.

It's exactly what Vista should have been. I'm really liking it, have been since the RC.
