View Full Version : Star wars episode 3.....actually its fantastic
just rewatched episode 3 and have to say i think its great. episode 1 bored me...epidsode 2 got better..but episode 3 is AS GOOD as 4-6 in my opinion. and the guy turning to darth vadar was very well done and well acted i thought.
only shame is i didnt want it to end...i think i heard he's going to do an animation thats kinda episode 3.5 but i would have loved to have seen more of early darth vadar.
Yeah, Episode 3 does rock.. I just pre-ordered the R1 DVD from PlayUSA.com (haven't used them before, normally I use Amazon)
I also thought episode 3 was very good; much better than 1 and 2, although many people I've spoken to think episodes 1 to 3 were all poor...
I expect that's because they're old enough to remember the old characters such as Skywalker, Leia and Solo hence they see the new episodes as a miserable excuse to extort cash from the pockets of a younger generation!
its just nostalgia that some people cant get past i think.
i mean i personally think darth maul could have been a better character than darth vadar ever was.
ive used play.com (and usa site) before....prefer them to amazon. but its a close call both are good.
I absolutely love Star Wars! the 3rd episode is a masterpiece.
Love the whole story, idea, characters, lightsabres, fights, etc . .
pete_fcs 22-08-2005, 18:29 didn't see it but saw darth vader the actor in whsmith's... there was a big queue of (wait for it..) THREE people to see him!
i was only passing by chance, so i nipped to argos to get a boxed darth vader figure for him to sign, but they'd sold out!

Anyway for the Umpteenth (at least) time, Chavs (http://www.chavscum.co.uk)
Deadstar 22-08-2005, 20:17 I thought episode 1 was brilliant. The light saber fight betwen maul, obi wan and jin was great.
Everyone looked at the kid and said thats darth vader but he looks so sweet and innocent. Brilliant and thats what I think george Lucas wanted you to think. Episode 2 when Yoda uses the force to take out his light saber. Green Bad ass.

Episode 1 was good but all the SW nerds hated on it cos they were whinging about how Jar Jar Binks was a focal character in the storyline... :loopy:
I like Star Wars movies as much as the next movie fan but I don't spend my time whining about negative SW stuff like Jar Jar Binks, cos contrary to popular belief, I have a life beyond the Internet.
I just don't like the 'cartoon' style of the prequels.
I mean one of the most talked about aspects of the original Holy Trilogy was the 'used future' look. Things were bashed up, dirty, didn't work right, felt real.
But the look of 1 to 3 was more like a computer cartoon like Toy Story or Shrek.
Hard to suspend disbelief when it's like watching a few real actors take part in a Pixar feature. 'Who Framed Darth rabitt?"
(3 was good story wise though).
