Was there a children's home at Sharrow Head in the 1970s?

A friend of mine, when we were kids, in the 1970s, at Sharrow Lane School, was taken into a children's home, which was nearby to us.

I don't know exactly where the home was, but I seem to remember the beautiful, massive house called Sharrow Head House, at the very top of Sharrow Lane might have been it.

I know it was a nursing home about 10-20 years ago, and since then is now inhabited by squatters.

I wonder, does anyone know if that was the home in question? Were there any others in that immediate vicinity? (I know of Cherry-tree orphanage at Nether Edge, but my memory seems to insist that SH House was the one?)

I hope someone can shed light on this one for me.
