I don`t use Excel myself and so haven`t got it on my PC, but people sometimes send me stuff in the Excel programme. On my other PC I downloaded a free Excel reader but can`t remember where I got it.
Is it safe to download any of the "Free" Excel packages you find on the web ?
Or does anyone know where to get one which is definitely OK ?
Just download OpenOffice. Free office suite that'll read pretty much everything MS Office has ever spewed out.

Is there anywhere in particular I should download it from, or is it OK to just put "Open Office" into Google and use any one of them ?
You see I`m not that IT savvy and don`t know if there`s any risk from it at all.

Just download the Excel Reader from Microsoft. (It's what I've always used)
