My car was stolen last night from the car park in Cundy Street in Walkley. It's an R reg green Subaru Impreza and it looks like they smashed the window as there's lots of glass on the floor. If anybody saw or heard anything let me know.

Thanks,

Teresa

Thanks. Mine was nicked rather than sold so I reckon it's someone local robbing to order. It's not an easy car to steal either.

Thanks, a friend suggested that someone here might be able to help so I thought I'd give it a go. It's worth a try!

Welcome to the forum Teresa

We'll be keeping an eye out for it

If all us forumers can't recognise a Subaru by now.....think your friend must have been reading the 'Red Subaru' thread

It's er...been a popular topic on here :)

Cheers. Just read the thread ... mine's green and looks like an archaeologist's car, scratched and dirty! Was hardly worth all the trouble they went to. Reckon they must have had to tow it away cuz the immobiliser is supposed to be pretty good! And it's not even a turbo.

Welcome to SF Teresa, and sorry to hear about your car.....I can't be of much help really, being as I live so far away:wink:

If your car was stolen to order, I doubt that professionals would have smashed the window....that's more likely to be kids out for a joyride.

Can I just make a suggestion, if you want to quote a previous posting, just click on the "quote" button at the bottom of that posting....saves a lot of copying and pasting...or you could copy and paste and place [ QUOTE ] at the beginning, and [ /QUOTE ] at the end (both without the spaces).

I had to laugh at one thing though, the adverts at the side of page of this thread are for Saburus (or should that be Saburi:hihi: )

I hope you find your car soon.

Hi,
Some people just want thumping, they take something that doesn't belong to themselves without a thought of the pain and annoyance this can cause. If they get caught which is rarely they are let off with a slap on the wrist and if they are really unlucky sent away to do a bit of car racing and car maintenance.
I've often thought that car parks should be covered by the CCTV camera's like the city centre is, this may not stop car thieves but at least a few more would be caught on camera and then let's all start demanding the little horrors are penalisedd in a way that they understand, corproral punishment!!

Hi Teresa,
I live just a few streets from you, Dont know if this helps or not but while I was stood on the front door step having my 'goodnight ciggy' at about 11.30 I noticed a group of hooded youths slowly walking down the middle of our road they were paying intrest to some of the cars on the road.
When they noticed me stood watching them they picked up pace a little and walked down the road.
Sorry to hear about your car, but welcome to the fourm anyway

Thanks. I wasn't allowed to quote other messages until I'd posted 5 myself, that's why I just copied and pasted before.

Kids on a joyride wouldn't pick my car, the security system's too sophisticated, they had to know what they were doing. Oh well, hopefully the insurance will cough up soon so I can get another car.

Thanks for that, I'll let the police know but I doubt it'll help much to be honest. Thanks for the welcome :)

I agree about the CCTV, but there are so many small car parks round here that I doubt it'll ever happen. Car was parked right next to a house in full view of their upstairs windows, but of course they heard nothing. Not so sure about the corporal punishment lol.

I was looking at buying an impreza but was put off by how many are stolen and the level of attention they get - even the older £5K ones :(

Nope, not yet :(

My friend tells me it's probably better not to get it back now as the value drops by 1/3 if a car's been recorded as stolen and recovered. But I'd like to get all my stuff back that was inside, not of a great deal of value but some of it can't be replaced. And I loved my car so I'd still be happy to get it back (repaired of course!).

Sorry to hear about your car. Mine was parked in that car park all weekend and I didn't hear anything.

Parking around Cundy Street is always a problem. If you park it in the car park it's very dark and would be easy to nick a car. But if you park it on the road your likely to have a brick thorugh your window or your wing mirror smashed in as my boyfriend has on several occassions.

I'm afraid you just have to take your chances. I think I'll be parking mine on the pavement outside my house from now on.

There are some nasty people around.
