Snagglepuss 10-03-2010, 19:50 What a nasty busybody!!!! I hope the vet who is so impressed with Amber's improved condition is also in your corner and prepared to testify to the R.S.P.C.A to that fact, and put them straight that it is not down to you she was in that state in the first place!!!! Fingers crossed you soon have your babe Diesel back with you too. Hopefully P@H it will be good news for you from now on. Still supporting you all the way hun xx
LitleMermaid 10-03-2010, 19:52 I have everything crossed for you and D p@h. I have been horrified at the goings on of this week and can't even begin to imagine how you are feeling. Try and have a wonderful birthday, hopefully with D at your side xxxx
rubydazzler 10-03-2010, 19:54 I haven't said anything but I've been reading. What Great News! Hope all goes well and Diesel is soon back home.
It must be hard for you to have to go an leave him, but you did all the right thing's and the dog has not bothered anyone you should have every right to get him back or what's the point in being responsable. my best wishes.
hope everything goes well keeping our fingers crossed for you xx
great news! roger mugford is a nice man , and ryan is lovely too, both very clever men :D
Nigel you are amazing you really are :) So glad Diesel is doing well and is likely to be home very soon!
So sorry that the busy body who reported you couldn't just ask about Amber :( And why the RSPCA had to pull you over the coals for so much more than just Amber's condition too.
Well done you for being out collecting as planned - you are one special dude!
FallenAngel6 10-03-2010, 20:09 I am glad things are looking brighter for you, things will be back to normal and hopefully if the busy body who reported you is reading this they will feel ashamed with themselves for causing so much grief to you and your animals...
Have a great birthdayx
helenasq 10-03-2010, 20:11 Good luck with everything Nigel. I hope Diesel is by your side to celebrate your birthday with you tomorrow.

berlingo 10-03-2010, 20:24 Hey Nigel,
Have been reading but didn't know what to say, but hope everything goes well for you tomorrow and you get the birthday present you deserve!
Me & Tiny Tim ( who is Louie now by the way ) will be keeping everything crossed for you and your family x
I went the wrong way on my way to work this morning cos I was worrying about you and Diesel and was not concentrating. I'm sure everything will go well for you both tomorrow. Keep positive.
Rainrescue 10-03-2010, 21:27 Nigel - I so hope things work out right - seizing of dogs just because they are of 'type' is wrong. Dogs need to be checked out for temprament - but owners themselves need to be addressed - not blaming the dog - oh the way the government looks at things drive me mad.
I saw this - and wondered if you may be able to tagg on or something. I wanted to go - its at Bleakholt nr. manchester but i think its a bit expensive tho i would love to listen
Yep - I got this today
Additional Guest Speaker Confirmed
Having heard the news that three more shelter managers have been charged under the Dangerous Dogs Act (DDA) and are awaiting court time we requested that Inspector Neil Davies of Merseyside police come to our “Management of Bull Breeds 1 day event”
Inspector Davies is one of the leading experts in this country on the DDA, he has served with Merseyside police for 24 years in a variety of roles predominantly within CID. Neil has the force responsibility for dangerous dog issues and is currently head of Merseyside police dog section which comprises 58 staff and 78 dogs. He has managed the proactive targeting of pit bull owners and an amnesty to recover pit bulls. In his spare time Neil trains his two pet German shepherd dogs which are part of a civilian display team.
Inspector Davies has agreed not only to come to our one day event, but to be the guest speaker on the topic of "The Law and Where you Stand"!
Inspector Davies will speak first at 10.00am and there will be no time restraint, he is happy to answer any questions at the end of his presentation.
This is a great opportunity to clarify the position of shelters and sanctuaries and gain greater understanding about care of bull breeds in a shelter environment.
We hope to see you on the day
Regards

whitebull 11-03-2010, 10:49 Is there any news yet? I can't stop thinking about this.
Hope it went well.
keeping fingers crossed- Dr Mugford is a nice man, met him and spoke with him when he came to the College a couple of years ago and he knows his stuff when it comes to assessing pit bulls and put bull types. Really hope it's good news (anyone who thinks either you or your dog are a risk is just plain stupid) and that your birthday earns you an extra special treat this year xxK
foxyflugel 11-03-2010, 14:18 That's great news Pets@home. Hope Diesel is back at home with you soon - where he belongs!!! x
FallenAngel6 11-03-2010, 14:36 Any news yet??? Im eager to know if hes home.
Hope your pooch is back home soon mate x
sarahfrog 11-03-2010, 19:34 Happy birthday nig! no wonder we get on same sign and week !
Maybe a notice on your gate to prevent busy bodies from making accusations like this in future, just stating that you operate a rescue for abused and abandoned dogs so if they see one in a bad state they won't assume its your fault... Its stupid that they have anyway as you do such a fantastic job but I can't help thinking maybe this could have been avoided by something as simple as a sign. After all, I know some people don't have the courage to actually confront someone they suspect of abuse, they either ignore it or report anonymously and as a result they frequently make unjust allegations (I've had a number of them myself, including one which nearly had my daughter taken away from me).
