Basically, I'm just wondering. I found recommended firms (and not recommended firms) on here, but - how much is it? I know it'll vary according to size, etc., but I have absolutely no idea. Mine's a terraced three-bedroom house, but would be grateful to anybody willing to tell me what they paid...thanks! :)

ours is a 3-bed end terrace and we were quoted £1800+VAT to chop off plaster, damp proof and replaster. we think this is a rip off and have chopped off all the plaster and skipped it ourselves and are now looking for new quotes this weekend, will let u know...

I think I know someone does this at a competetive rate.

I know this is an old thread and prob won't be relevant to the original poster anymore but just to update incase anyone was looking for damp proofing...

We ended up hiring a damp proofing machine from Tedbar Tinkers and we also bought the liquid from there too (which came with a guarantee and certificate). The job itself was a bit of a pain in the arse (not least because I did the entire house by myself!!) but the saving was huge. It cost us £200 to damp proof the whole house.

Yes, we still needed it plastering but we still saved a lot of money doing it by ourselves - sorry doing it by MYSELF (spose I couldn't complain too much cos the boyf does everything else oh apart from skip out seventy six thousand buckets of black ash plaster rubble, now this is turning into a rant!).

Depends on how much damp have you got....and how damp it is.
