Hi,
I would like some advice from some of you geek....I mean computer minded people...he he..only kidding about the geek thing.
I am thinking of investing in a laptop with mobile centrino technology blah blah but I want to know how easy it will be to migrate from my existing broadband connection (using plusnet with an external modem) to the new wireless laptop. Is it simply a case of reinstalling the modem software onto my new laptop and somehow it connects to the modem using smoke and mirrors (wherever it is) or do I need a new type of modem??

You need a router, or the simpler option of an all in one ADSL Modem Wireless router, usually about £70 ish from on the t'internet.

I paid £40 for my belkin router from http://www.dabs.com - i did get my techie minded sister to set it up for me but it took her all of 10 mins and wireless laptops rock!!!

(or to speak english are rather good)

The great thing about f9/plusnet is their lo-cal rate for technical help, and they are happy not to pass the buck, so if you get stuck just call them

If you call at 1am, you usually get through first time without being stuck on hold for any length of time ;)

What kind of idiot rings tech support at 1 am in the morning though? I'm sure the tech support night shift don't appreciate it as they're probably all sat around doing chuff all cos they think they won't get any calls..
