hi my lcd tv has a problem when i turn it on 1 side of screen is light ok other side is dark the tv hasnt been droped are anything like that any idea's :roll:

i took back of and from main circuit board you can hear a clicking sound like a sparking sound???

you can view all picture but one side is alot darker than other side and the side was is bright enough seem to be flashing all time??

when you say invertor is that power related?

It sounds like your backlight may have gone I guess? Not entirely sure as if it was the backlight I'd expect the whole thing to go.

thats what i was thinking and like i say u can see all picture just 1 half is really dark

yes tube a small lighting tube like the one you have in your kitchen thats runs off the inverter is what you call backlight and there are more than one which is why one is lighting the others kaput
backlights so wrong too as the bulbs usually run down either side or top and bottom

are they worth buying themn if thats the case ie are they expensive

price depends on the size there actually quiet cheap but fitting thems a bugger and thats with 16 years electronics experience if you never attempted something like this before you should just cut your losses sell up and get a new tv

crt is a Cathode Ray Tube hence crt
