Anyone else suffering slow broadband speeds today?

Noticed it last nite - some websites loaded up fine but others just won't load... especially the images.

Is this a problem with Blueyonder particularly or are some parts of the internet down or slow today?

This is the first time since I got broadband that I've had any problem getting anything to download... :-(

Having same problem here - just checking blueyonder website to see if there are any known issues.

Just contacted Telewest as I am also having problems, a recorded message says they have problems in the Yorkshire area and engineers are investigating, hope they hurry up.

yes i been haveing problems too as so many forum members have..

forum member andy4107 posted to try this and it worked wonders with mine
i was haveing slow search and could not read some websites,so try this and you should be ok.

Try the following:

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Goto Tools > Internet Options... > Connections > Lan Settings
3. Check the 'Use proxy server for your LAN...'
4. Under Address enter 'webcache.blueyonder.co.uk' and under Port enter '8080'
5. Hit OK and OK again.
6. Try again and it should work.

god i thought all my favourite websites had just gone down! glad to know it's not just me having beef with the connection..

is this causing anyone's computer to act strangely? it might be a coincidence, but at the same time blueyonder chucked a wobbly, my internet explorer started playing up..

started hanging when clicking certain links, leave processes behind once the main window was closed, etc.

i thought it was something to do with the ebay toolbar, because every time i restarted the machine it was the last process to be force-closed (EbayTBDaemon.ex)..

anyone else got this, or anything like it?

All seems back to normal now:thumbsup:

I was wondering why I couldn't access some of our domains this morning.

FTR I think the problem first occured last night around 1:30 as all our domains started to be inaccessible through BY at around that time, though DNScheck showed all servers functioning correctly.

Thats right to a certain extent. Plus this was a regional outage, and what an individual does on machine certainly wont fix what is essentialy a problem on everyones internet service.

Which I found out.....

The hard way....

Spent over an hour this morning checking our internal network for possible errors/problems, changing numerous settings, many reboots.....

Then read this thread:rolleyes:.

I noticed this problem in the early hours of Friday morning and when I rang tech support they knew about the problem and also mentioned that because of me and others ringing they were going to be updating their recorded message on the phone.
I was just relieved that it wasn't a problem at my end as in the early hours it's usually not a good idea to be trying to trace problems.
90% of my favorites were just impossible to open although S.F. opened fine so it wasn't a total disaster.

It was slow this morning (6am). With some sites not loading at all.

But the best bit, was when I went to the status page
http://status.blueyonder.co.uk it wouldn't load saying it was waiting for ad.uk.doubleclick.net.

A problem effecting blueyonders connection to the internet means you can't see the status page.

It's a bit poor really.
