The late Tony Capstick, Cappo, once did a programme for Radio 4 about children's playground songs and games. From the information he researched, I dont know how deep that was, the Firth Park area of Sheffield still upheld those games and songs, more than anywhere else in UK. At that time I was involved with Radio Sheffield.
I know many of you on here dont like threads along the lines of What Happened To Spangles etc. etc. but these are part of our heritage that are being lost. Lets record them!
I know that there are all ages using the forum from all parts of the world and more strength to that, so I am asking, please let me know what games you played as a kid, and if possible the rules. You can post them or pm me.
If I get enough, be it specific to Sheffield or from all forum members I may consider publishing a book of them, or at least printing them off in a form to sell.
It's over to you.
