Im thinking of having laser eye treatment and keep seeing offers via Optimax. Has anyone used this company or can anyone give me feedback on them.

my girlfriend had hers done there 2 yrs ago and says they are excellent reall look after you,, she only needs jam jar bottom glasses for reading now lol,only joking they are good

Mine done in 2007. I've forgotten I ever wore specs, but I do get dry eyes.

Thanks for the comments. Think I may book in and see what they have to say. They seem to be doing the best offers for my condition.... and I am blind as a bat!!

About 8 years since my partner had hers done at Optimax in Manchester. Still says it's the best money she's ever spent.

Optical Express have a good reputation. My friend had hers done, but still has to use glasses for reading.

It's strange you mention them, as I had an argument with one of their opticians just before they started selling laser treatment. They were telling a customer a pack of lies and I overheard it.
"It only lasts 2 or 3 years, loads have gone wrong, you won't be able to see a thing when it gets dark, they'll be worse in 2 or 3 years than they are now etc". I asked her where she got her info from and if she'd let me quote her in a letter to Optimax because the lies annoyed me so much. Never seen someone splutter and back down so quickly.

I'm guessing they contract the work out anyway though.

I read in The Mail where some peoples eyes do revert back to how they were before, after about 6 or 7 years. My friend has 4 more years to go, to see if this is true.:hihi:

I had my eyes done at Ultralase in Leeds January 2002 & it was the best thing I ever did. Have had no problems at all. Eye sight still perfect. Was told I may need reading glasses at some stage, but only started needing them last year when I was 50 - only if print is very small and if light not very good. I was told lots of people over 45 need reading glasses.

Do you still have to put moisturising drops in ?

No, have never had to put moisturising drops in. After the treatment & was given some eye drops to use at night for two weeks, but then that was it. Haven't had any problems with dry eye or any irritation.
