I'll write this whilst the proverbial iron is hot.............
A month or so ago I had a SOS call from a friend of a friend who works in the same field as me (internet/IT consultancy). To cut to the chase; I ended up working on a project he was running with a client (I ran a Technology Roadmap workshop) and recently I called him up for one my projects (he put a wireless network together).
Anyway, this 'alliance' worked very well for the both of us; certainly financially but also in respect of working with someone who, although in the same field, had a different skillset to me. As IT is such a big/varied subject and changes every five minutes, it got me thinking to how useful it is to know people in a similar self employed vein and to potentially forge similar types of 'alliances'.
So, I guess I am writing this to see who else is out there and potentially would be interested in bouncing a few ideas and thoughts about in this wonderful world of IT!
Cheers,
Dave.
