It's my birthday in about 3 weeks time and i still can't decide where to go?? i have worked out a shortlist, Cafe Rouge, Takapuna, Sola bar, Tequilas.. although i did Takapuna last year (food was amazing!!). we are all going to be in black tie and i want to go somewhere that has a lot of choice on the menu and also has a bar area... has anyone been down to Bluwater at the quays??? and info would be appriciated baring in mind i'll be 25 many thanks

For my 25th I took myself and my then boyfriend to The Blue Room. The food was lovely and theres a drinks area but its not exactly party central unless you fancy popping next door to the Big Tree with all the Burberry crew.

Having eaten at all of your shortlisted venues I would cross Cafe Rouge out unless thats really your thing - iI find it a bit dull. Never try to 'warm up old soup' by trying to recreate an amazing night out - so thats Takas crossed off too. Sola is good but its a bit out of the way if you wanted to move on, so (thankfully) you are left with Tequilas which is brand spanking new, in a handy location, does fab cocktails and as its tapas theres lots of choice and sharing to be had. And if you want to be Bling theres Cristal champers at £130 a bottle - leave all bank cards at home incase you get tempted!

You could then pop to Bai Hoi (or something) where the old Vodka Rev used to be on Mappin St, it has astonishing Far-East inspired/imported interiors.
