Does anyone know if money can be paid into a nationwide account via the post office and how long it takes to credit the account? Thanks

You can only pay money in at a post office if you're over 75 years old. And it's all in loose coppers and small silver. And you have to buy 23 stamps of varying value. And want a 42p postal order. And want to buy a TV stamp. All whilst moaning about the cost of the license and weighing a badly wrapped parcel bound for Australia.

It is doable if you have a giro slip, or the information that would be on a giro slip, from the Nationwide branch. I don't think it's possible to just go to the PO with your bank account number and a wad of cash, and have it paid in.
