Siân 18-08-2005, 07:03 Puts them on a par with MacDoanld's I'd have thought. Only the stuff Ann Summers shops sell is probably healthier. JoeP 18-08-2005, 07:08 If the people concerned are of an age that can legally enter the workforce and engage in sexual activity, I don't see the problem. Joe willman 18-08-2005, 07:34 i always thought you had to be over 18 to be employed in the "sex" industry. alchemist 18-08-2005, 07:48 is ann summers classed as being the sex industry?, personally i would say no, as it is primarily a store that sells exotic clothing and toys, last time i was in one the material was not what i would call offensive and the videos were definitly more of the confessions quality and not R18 as a matter of interest does ann summers sell anything that is R18? am i correct in assuming that to sell R18 yu need to have a specific license and as such employees in those shops should be over 18? dave willman 18-08-2005, 07:51 good point but i know the job centre refused to publicise jobs because it was classified as in the sex industry. i know there is legal precedence now to allow the advertising of jobs but i think the classification remains. 1/2 of what they sell u can pick up in other stores so i have no problem with the product range. osiris 18-08-2005, 08:13 I do not feel most 16/17/18 yr olds would be experienced or emotionally mature enough to cope with the variety of events/situations/circumstances which surround the sex industry. It IS part of the sex industry and to say it isnt is akin to sayin alco-pops aren't alcoholic. Well of course they aren't if you ignore the alco- part of their name. In the same way, sex-toys aren't part of the ex industry if you just don't say the words sex, right?!?! Lol, come on guys, get real. At 16/17/18 years old kids should still be learning about sex, I'm not naive, kids start much younger than that, I know I did! But they are not capable or equipped to deal with sex as an industry yet. evildrneil 18-08-2005, 08:23 The military hapilly recruit from secondary schools and personally I would prefer to see people wielding vibrators and french ticklers than guns!!! osiris 18-08-2005, 08:36 Originally posted by evildrneil The military hapilly recruit from secondary schools and personally I weould prefer to see people wielding vibrators and french ticklers than guns!!! Why? A 16yr old lad will have a far better idea of what to do with a gun than a vibrator! Ok so he might get the basic idea but in terms of acutal effective use of the item, he'd be better off with the gun! They sell Sex toys, exotic clothing and Pornography. The only difference between Ann Summers and your local sex shop is their method of marketing, what’s on the shelf and what’s on the site are much the same. sheff_minx 18-08-2005, 08:52 You have to be over 18 to have an Ann Summers party... it seems wrong that they can host these parties below this age!! Ann Summers is a sex shop, the same as you find down back-streets in every town, it is just marketed in a specific way to make it more "friendly" and less intimidating. Under-18's should not be involved in this industry. hazel 18-08-2005, 08:53 Who is to say either is right, the guns or the sex. It would be nice to leave our young to get on with just being young without outside pressures, they get enough from thiier peers. And is Ann Summers organisation going to benefit the young or just exploit them. I suppose I'm old fashioned in believing children are not children long eough. Hazel 21steve 18-08-2005, 09:11 As long as they are hot, i dont see a problem alchemist 18-08-2005, 09:43 Originally posted by serapis Take a look at the Ann Summers website.
