I have but the shops the search listed doesn't sell live stock. I have phoned to check before draging the children around all the stores

middletons down the bottom of the moor have hamsters.
Would you consider a slightly older hamster about 4 months old? I met the rescue that helenasq has in at the weekend and must say that he is gorgeous - he is up for rehoming now with his cage. If you want any more details you'd be best to pm helen direct :) She is in the meadowhead area so not far from you

I would consider a rescue hamster, the only problem is the last one I had was a rescue and although much older it hadn't been looked after well and although lovely was sickly so it was upsetting for the children.
I am going to see some later at Chapletown but if no joy I will post for more details.
Many thanks to everyone for all your help
Nox do you know if the hamster is a syrian or a dwarf? My syrian died a while ago so looking for a new rescue one soon...
It's a russian dwarf - nothing wrong with him at all, he was an unwanted christmas present for someone and then they just couldn't wait to get rid of him :(
Awww that's a shame, poor thing. Wish I could take him but already got 3 roborovskis that have had to be split and it's a pain in the bum trying to find good-sized cages for them that they can't squeeze out of. I hope he finds a good home :)
