For anyone interested,theres a blood donation session,one week today,in chapeltown.Its being held at -
The newton hall,Cowley Lane,Chapeltown.
Times are 11:00 - 12:45 ; 14:00 - 16:00 ; 17:00 - 19:15
Theres no need to book an appointment in advance(although you can if you so wish),donors are welcome to attend any session without an appointment.
This will be my fourth donor session, and to anyone who may be considering giving blood,I say go for it:thumbsup: Despite what some people may tell you,the pain is negligible and there have been no dizzying after effects so far for me.The only time ive had a negative after effect was when I attended a session shortly before a family meal. The combination of wine + blood loss is not for the faint hearted :gag:

Blood is in demand and I would urge anyone considering to give to take the challenge. Its a pizz a cake - really is. The worst part is the needle and after that its just a case of lye back and think of the good you are doing, plus enriching your life and potentially saving others. Its not sad nor is it embarrassing either, I amj enclined to think its pretty cool. Think of all the poor souls in the recent London bombings who have benefitted from the donation service - picture the amounts of blood lost in those atrocities. Who helped save the day? - the blood donar did.
Go on, put pay to thise demons in your head that persuade you to not bother or even fear the good cause and go for it.....
Tomorrow..... just turn up...

Blood donors very important, short shelf life of fresh blood donors always needed, go to the next available session might be in the city cnetre might even be one near to your home.
the next pint you give could save a life, and not what everyone wants to think about but it could be your own life that depends on pint or two of blood
nice people at the city centre unit, very friendly all in black with long teeth and red stuff dribling down their chins !!
you give them a pint they give you a cup of tea and a choci biscuit, your body makes more blood all is right with the world, We go three times a year and are proud to let tohers know about it.

thought i'd give this message a bit a push up to the top as it's happening this week.
I'm terrified of needles, I physically shake as soon as i realise I'm going to have an injection but mange to give blood. If you can't make this session because its out of the way or our working there is a centre in Sheffield that have earlier and later sessions throughout the week.
Please get yourselves down there. It takes about half an hour for your first session, thats with the filling in the form and having a quick medical, and that's it you've helped save someones life. :)
if nothing else you get a free drink and biscuit, friendly conversation just for your time..... :)
