Anyone know where I can get some ...and cut to size please?

Tried a couple of Garden Centres and they look at you as though they've never heard of a greenhouse!!

Aren't greenhouse glasses the curse of climate change?

Better use a polytunnel.

Abbey Glass on Chesterfield Road near Homebase have sold me horticultural glass for my greenhouse before.

Last time I lost glass I made sure I put double the number of "W" clips in. Touch wood no probs since.

The problem with horticultural glass is that it breaks easily into large and dangerous shards, much safer to get toughened glass, ok it costs more but whats that compared to the price of a life or nasty injury.

toughened glass in a greenhouse?

I'm sure perspex or polycarbonate is a better alternative if you're looking for something safer

Food for thought there....must be millions of tomato growers that have died in greenhouses.

God, all I wanted was someone to tell me "so-and-so " sells greenhopuse glass cut to size. Two posters with 30-odd thousand posts between them came up with nowt......but still felt it necessary to post...well ya gotta keep that post count ticking over haven't you. :loopy:

Thanks for the couple of useful posts..I'll give them a try :)

the places I found (internet) for specific sized replacement glass panes were working out quite pricey. My greenhouse is at the allotment, so not so important for it to look the same, so I've replaced the missing panes with polycarbonate cut to size with a tenon saw. So far so good.

freecycle might be worth trying too (although I think it is now going under the name freegal)
