View Full Version : Paluki Whoodle Pups Anyone?
HenHugger 21-02-2010, 22:30 We have a litter due mid April of Saluki Whippet cross Poodle pups! Light brindle dam and apricot (miniature) sire. Both have wonderful temperaments: very intelligent, gentle, fun-loving family pets. Would suit agility, obedience, working or non-working homes. Will be used to cats and children and the normal busy household stuff! A different but carefully planned cross: get 'em here first!!
(from a different forum) nothing to do with me I hasten to add!!
The mind boggles! How the **** do you mate a saluki with a miniature poodle? Did he have a table to stand on?
Sorry, don't answer that- not on a family forum at least ;)
What breed is that? It's a whoodle- don't think so!
Good grief... some people.
Interesting. In my day we didn't make up breed names. They were just mongerels. *chuckles*
FallenAngel6 22-02-2010, 07:34 LOL oh please get a picture up here i cant even imagine what they look like.
mummysaz21 22-02-2010, 08:16 bet there about 350 aswell , the mind boggles
iamwoody 22-02-2010, 08:30 I remember when mongrels were free ?

Yes, and you edither gave them away or the buyer paid £5 in a pet shop.
I've never known pet shops to sell pups. I think they must have stopped it by the time I was aware.

I'm talking 20 years ago.

Disturbingly, I have. My friend wanted some hamster supplies so we nipped into this pet shop randomly. They had glass tanks along the floor (like very big fish tanks) each with a litter of pups in. No mum in sight. Never seen anything like it.
Needless to say I told my friend that if he bought anything from the shop I would kill him!
This was only approx 5 years ago.
Off topic I know sorry. But just to clear up, unfortunately for the poor pups it hasnt stopped and pet shops can and do sell puppies and kittens.
There has been numerous threads on this gastly place in Leeds and Manchester.

This is disgusting, but it's no wonder - only have to see the number of 'kitten wanted' threads on this forum to see why :(
Edit - many are probably bought as gifts for children etc. The Sheff Cats Shelter actually has to close to adopters in the run up to Xmas to prevent this, which is just so very sad.
theres a petshop in sheffield that has puppies and a few with kittens
cooljules 22-02-2010, 20:38 i have seen em in sheff too, could have been middletons but my memory is poor, in the last year or so anyway
FallenAngel6 23-02-2010, 08:10 the last time i saw a pet shop with animals such as dogs and cats i was about 7 and it was down by the side of Castle Market....
Ive only seen pet shops selling small animals such as birds, hamsters etc
dogs4life 23-02-2010, 08:19 There is a pet shop near me that sells the usual hamsters, birds fish etc, aswell as puppies and kittens and have now taken to selling more exotics such as ground squirrels and meerkats - it's like visiting a zoo but I feel so sorry for the animals

That was, indeed, Maces, and, yes the puppies, kittens, hamsters/gerbils, rabbits, fish, and birds were kept on the upper floor. the noise was incredible.
I often pass a pet shop, these days, inside l**ds market, which has kittens for sale, all-too frequently. They ask between fifty and seventy quid for them. It breaks my heart, and makes me see red.

I'll probably be shot down for admitting this, but my pupster [now 6 months old] was bought in a pet shop in town, so it does still happen... (but I live in essex now, not sheffield)
Oh pplease, I despair, I really do - since when are poodle, saluki whippet crosses anything other than crossbreeds or mongrels? paluki bleeping whipp whoodles indeed...
