Does anyone remember a film from the late 1960s It started with a load of man apes who had their minds altered by a black monolith. Later there was a scene set in a space station (with Leonard Rossiter).
Eventually a long spaceship made its way out towards Jupiter and the computer threw a wobbly.
Do you remember the film? If so what was it called?
(That's an easy one).

Now to the title (courtesy of the Goons), or rather "What year is it now?"

Do you call it "two thousand and five" or do you follow the BBC and call it "twenty- oh-five"?

Two thousand and five!

No doubt about it.

It won't feel right to use "twenty ...." until around 2012 or 2013.

Or, as the Americans would say "two thousand five".

ie they miss out the "and"

Except that when Rush made their classic album 2112, everybody called it 'twenty-one twelve' rather than 'two thousand one hundred and twelve' or 'two double one two'. And when it was 1905, I'm sure everyone said 'nineteen-oh-five' as we would now. That's confused matters - maybe we should really be in twenty-oh-five now.
