given it this week, solid wood, thick strong metal mesh...secure...i was going to add it to the 10' chicken coop, but as the chickens will be free around the garden in the day, seems a waste....
had looked at getting in keeping BOP as always had a interest, but not sure health wise im upto that.
im not into avery birds, find them a bit boring
Perhaps it's just me being stupid but what are BOP? Would be a great space for some bunnies, but depends what you're into really.

bird of prey.
its high, very high, although good surface area on the ground, cos its tall wondered what would be good.
Ah right! Why didn't I see that straight away? Missed the fact that it's 8' high - yes it would be a waste of good space to have something like a rabbit that would only make use of surface area on the ground. I know of a fair few people that keep BOP in large enclosures in their garden, let's hope some of them are on here and can help you out.
If you pm 'ferretface' on here I know he has a BOP in his garden, can't for the life of me remember what though :hihi:!

lol, give it to me!! I'm wanting an aviary in my garden and can let my chooky with the broken leg use the bottom half to get her strength back in a couple of weeks between being crated in the kitchen and free ranging at the stables. And I could also use it for the poorly hens that come out of the battery before rehoming them. It would be perfect! :D

Oh henhugger, you got in there first lol. Sounds like it would make a fab cat run for cats who cant go out, or somewhere to put the kids when they do my head in ;)

always had a interest in falconry, and a thing for owls (lots can never be rereleased and i know someone in yorkshire who takes them in) now it would be fantastic for ferrets. i had thought of converting it for something like that, due to the height.
the thick metal mesh, are all in one pieces each, came on the back of a lorry (next door gave it to me cos they used it for a dog) and are pretty huge.
if i dont put a use to it henhugger you can have it, but dont hold your breath, getting my garden sorted, turtle pond and chickens again etc is sort of therapy for me :-)
