I've just been updated on what's happening over at XTHost. It seems that every time it is re-opened, someone abuses the service and the server is pulled.
Now Kunde who owns Dhost and XTHost is saying that XTHost will probably never be re-opened and all websites lost.

My only copy of VtV was on my laptop that went in for repair 2 weeks ago. That laptop is beyond repair.

No laptop = No Tech Vault :shakes:

I am waiting on the money for my new laptop before i can start fresh so it will be at least two weeks before i can get a website up and running again.
Sorry to have inconvenienced anyone :(

PS... Anyone know of any reliable free hosting?

That was all far too technical for me Mr Vidster, but it sounded sad! So sorry to hear your news and looking forward to you getting yourself back together soon! X

:o oooooh nooooo

Sorry to hear it has vanished, I did do a search on Waybackmachine website that keeps data on websites, but yours wasnt there.

Hope you get it back and running real soon.

If you are after some free webspace, I can spare some on mine, as I have loads, if interested PM me.

The URL might not be ideal though --> www.myscifi.co.uk

Thanks guys, thanks for the offer Peter
I've been told i can have 100mb and unlimited monthly bandwith on Dhost and upgrade my mb's as needed.
Maybe i'll start hosting some removal tools etc next time round?

Hi Vidster,

What's your monthly traffic like?

Joe

To be honest, it's only very low at the minute Joe :( (well it's non existent at the min :hihi: )
I know hardly anything about site optimisation so virtually all my traffic comes from recommendations. My stat counter only gives me the last three months details and they are somewhat sketchy.
I've only had about 2600 unique visitors in the last three months, with just over 6000 page loads (no idea if this is what you are on about :?)

Seems ironic that i was gearing myself up to add loads of new content  I'm just waiting on the new laptop. I don't think this p3 600MHz laptop is quite up to running Dreamweaver MX :hihi:

If you need space I can get you something set up - there's a few sites I host as freebies for folks and if you nede soemwhere to live until you get sorted (or until you get OODLES of traffic) then give me a shout. The usual stuff - PHP, mySQL, etc.

That's mighty kind of you Joe

I will hopefully be starting on the new website sometime next week so at my speed it might be ready...say... Christmas time :hihi:

bad news, seems like every data is lost. my provider formatted my box because it got terminated due to abuse.

That's the final nail in the coffin then :shakes: :(

I'll try and get something sorted out in the next two weeks.

have you looked at http://www.archive.org/index.php to see if there is a copy of it there?
