Hey, I'm visiting sheffield for the first time for a night out on sat 27th august with two of my mates, who have also never been before. It's my mate's 21st so we need to know the best places to go out so she can have a top time! we're all students so not exactly flush, can anyone help/advise us so we don't end up going somewhere pants!?? we like most kinds of music, indie, chart, dance, etc. thanks guys!:D

Amy - the best place would be republic (or called GatecrasherOne now)... Its classy on a saturday but not too stuck up, the music is either funky house or r'n'b depending on which room and its generally chav free!

Chav free and classy? where you been going? different GC1 to the one i went to last......... best place to be is, Back2Basics, Rehab, The Corn Exchange..... Leeds......... that where i will be!!

That would be Sheffield, South Yorkshire not Leeds, West Yorkshire! Or maybe you just think if you post that here everyone will think you're really cool? lol! amy, there aren't any completely horrible places to go out in sheffield. it's each to their own. personally, kingdom is a great venue but it's more of a small town club in a big city and not for me, it reminds me of the Pier 39 in Cleethorpes!
GCOne - is another nice venue and quite a legendary venue at that. Could be an option.
Leadmill - great when you're hammered

Before this thread turns into a war of words (my club is better than your club - well yours has got more chavs innit!) I suggest you keep abreast of what is happening on the dates you happen to be in our lovely green city using the notices and events page.

If anyone suggests Attercliffe, La Chambre is a swingers club, most of the others are gentlemens(!) clubs. now you can make an informed decision.

Perhaps you could go to the Waggon and Horses in Millhouses.

The people there are great!

a masoginistic friend of mine has no apparent respect for women or girls of an kind. so he votes the leadmill.

i, however, even though its full of bookscum, the SHOWROOM is nice enough till 1am.

i don`t know. if its alcopops, binge drinking etc.... just go to the clubs, they`re all the same.

the university nights are the nicest. just cos theres good security, its always a nice unoppressive atmosphere, and there is rarely violence and posturing.
