Recent scientific research has found that a tuna's favourite type of music is wonky hip-hop and it's favourite place to listen to it is Sheffield, leading the Ministry of Big-ness to hastily commission three of the genre's most bad-ass representatives to hit the Steel City on the last Wednesday of February to deliver some tuna-approved tunes.

On the menu we have:

Southern Bluefin Tuna aka ::: BULLION :::

Dictionary.com defines 'bullion' as "gold or silver in the form of bars or ingots", and a listen to any of the bars in Bullion's vault of tunes confirms that dictionaries are, in fact, correct. The Londoner established himself as an expert music maker with his Beach Boys vs J Dilla album 'Pet Sounds: In The Key Of Dee', which has since been followed up with a number of dazzling releases, most recently the 'Say Goodbye To What' 7". Missing his set would be an act of sheer ridiculousness.

Grand Thon aka ::: DÉBRUIT (LIVE) :::

All the way from France (erm, via his current residence in London), Débruit will be bringing his astonishingly brilliant live show to Sheffield. Here's a wee taster of what to expect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZB1-u9Kiv4

Bigeye Tuna aka ::: ILLUM SPHERE :::

★ ONE OF FACT MAGAZINE'S 'TOP 10 PRODUCERS TO WATCH IN 2010' ★

To say that Illum Sphere was one of the most important figures in the experimental and glitchy hip-hop UK scene would have to be dismissed as an understatement; his Hoya:Hoya night in Manchester has seen the likes of Flying Lotus, Rustie, Toddla T, Daedelus and the Gaslamp Killer pass through it's doors, and the night even earned itself it's own room at the Thrasher edition of the Warehouse Project back in October (I was there - it rocked). In between booking the world's finest talent Illum Sphere also finds time to produce his own juicy beats (most recently found on his 'Long Live The Plan' EP), and knock up remixes for Martyn and Kidkanevil.

As if this wasn't enough of a musical feast already, the starter course includes Skipjack Tuna aka JACK OPUS, Sheffield's go-to man for musical knowledge and slammin' sets, and a prime cut of Frigate Tuna aka THE RASPBERRY ARMADILLO will be available à la carte - succulence guaranteed.

The doors of DQ will be flung open at 10, and flung shut at 03:30

Cost of meal (service charge not included) - £4 before 11, £5 after

The drinks menu includes DQ's usual selection of excellent value beverages, including the ideal apéritif for tuna, Jagerbombs at £1.50.

Bon appetit
