Hi i know that this may be like most other messages about someone wanting help and moving to sheffield and im one of those but this is the first time ive ever really used a forum and chat room so advice would be most appreciated.

Im moving to sheffield as chester is a pile of poo, ive only been the once to sort out a place. Im looking to move about febuary and im having great difficulty fing work along the areas of graphic design and desk top publishing which is what my degree is in, im currently doing DTP which is better than telesales. The internet agencies and papers do not really have these any ideas or links would be fantastic, making friends will be my main task but this wont be as hard as finding a job.

Have you managed to get hold of a copy of the Sheffield Star? That has a big jobs section on a Thursday (probably not this week though ;)) so that would be a good starting poing.

We (me and my family) recently moved to Sheffield. It is pretty good so far but the job market seems pretty different to what we were used to, so can understand your concerns. Anyway, as we are trawling the job papers as they come out, if I see any DTP jobs, will let you know. I hjave noticed a lot of jobs in the economy sector - working for banks but on the telephone and internet side of things, probably not exactly what your after but they do pay well and may tide you over whilst looking for what you really want.
