You have never heard of Strix?

She has well over 7000

Strix

I'm going to ask if I can re-register to get my post count back to zero :suspect:

The only other poster I can think of with over 5000 is Cyclone

I am sure you will pass us all again if you started from 0 ;)

I really don't see why it should make an ounce of difference what someones post count is.

I can see that pdrnsf posted her original question just out of curiousity (and I have often wondered the same), but I think it would be a shame to see this thread turn into just another arena for sniping at those forummers who do post on here a lot... :)

I have over 5000 but a lot of mine are probably due to me posting notes on threads asking people to behave. :)

Sometimes peoples post count will go down, by the way. It's just what happens when we prune the very old threads and delete ancient 'For Sale' posts and such like.

But, it's not the volume that counts, it's what's being said. ;)

so am I right in thinking that Strix has the most?

Litha
16-08-2005, 16:54
well i cant wait for Strix to get to 10,000 cos then we have a excuse for a graduation mini meet :D ( but wiv alcohol this time :heyhey: :hihi: )

*pokes strix* come on come on missis

Strix
16-08-2005, 17:18
OUCH! I don't need poking if you mention alcohol! :D

I suspect there are plenty of people who would have something to say about that though Litha :suspect:

The post count is pretty meaningless as it is not accurate. From time to time post counts are pruned back by admin so you are not seeing the actual number of posts you have made.

Anyway isn't quality more important than quantity? :D

well Strix i think it just goes to show what a lovely person you are, you have the ability to talk about any subject, to an array of many different people who's personalitys range from top of the scale right down to low life.

and anyway you make me giggle :hihi: :heyhey:

Well I would also assume that Strix has the most posts. I like her posts, particularly as she always takes the time to find what people are looking for on Google etc. Rather than posting 4 word pointless posts - like my good self. :D

I think you should get rid of the visable post count on all message boards, i think it encourages eliteism and arrogance, someones view on something is equal to another persons if they have 2 posts or 20,000 posts!!

Me too, I agree, it's quality that counts, and definatly not bumping up my post count by just repeating what someone else just said about it being post 'quality' that counts ...

Hehe. Good one. And I hate those people who just post to tell someone they made a good post. ;)

I like Strix's posts too! Very informative and helpful...most of the time...:suspect:

I don't think it matters how long someone spends on here either - it's up to their good selves!

I know one forum where the more you post, the more sort of 'points' you get (to say how helpful you are) - I don't like this because people just post to get up a rank!

Oh, and I quite like that! it's being supportive of someone's post! I like getting messages like that!

How does one measure quality?

Surely what will hold one persons attention. will perhaps bore others and an eyecatching title will raise the viewing numbers when sometimes the post has very little ccntent.

So I suppose it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Lots of posts are made that add nothing eg a smilie or one to one comments that could and should be made via pm's.

Infact very rarely now does a thread develop into a debate as such, which I feel is sad.

As far as thread titles go there used to be an 'enforced' way of heading up threads. Geoff would go through titles and change them if they deviated from the set format.

Does that mean you've been re-reading that thread you said you wouldn't :(

I wonder if there's a y2k style issue if you get to 9,999 :hihi:

Thanks for the positive comments :D
Despite some people's point of view - I do try to be helpful :suspect:

And Hazel - if a title is interesting, but the content falls short of your expectations, why don't you contribute something more substantial to it? ;)

As far as I'm aware, vBB postcount tails off at around 5700000.

I can confirm Strix has the most, followed by Lickszz surprisingly. DaBouncer, Cyclone and JoeP make up the rest of the top 5.

Some people have a fixation which seems to involve mentioning me on every other thread they 'contribute' to :suspect:
