I'm thinking about buying a 1995 Renault clio 1200cc.
Can anybody give me any info about how much spare parts are etc?
Has anybody had any good bad experiences with old clios?
Also, how much do you think I should be paying for this type of car?
Any feedback/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Check out autotrader price guide on their web site and also parkers price guide on line, they should give you an idea of what it is worth. Take into consideration the miles on the clock, and the fact that cars are not worth much any more so expect to pay the low end of their evaluations unless it is in excellent condition.

I love my clio - nicest car i've ever driven (and i've had most - easily bored) However, mine is a Mark 2 R plate ( 98 ) and has electrics and central locking - I personally think the Mark 1's are a bit dated and possibly a little over priced. I paid 2200 for mine with 69,000 on the clock...
Depends on how much you want to spend really - less than a grand at that sort of age I personally would go for an L/M plate ish nissan micra. I had one of those too, second best ever car. They look nicer and feel a bit more modern inside - and the engine is one of the best in a small car - v.well made. Garage by me in Heeley had a couple...not looked recently.
parts for either aren't going to be especially cheap - if you want cheap parts, go for a fiesta - but i've had 3 of them and they all broke spectacularly!!!
Hope that helps!
