i think wednesday should be able to record our 4th home victory in a row tonight, but we all know football can be a cruel game just as i witnessed when i went to donny and sharp scored, no doubt he will probably score again tonight but hopefully we can bag a few, be nice to have 2 clean sheets in consecutive games. think me and corker are still meeting in town for a few, that right mate? if we are then anyone is welcome to join us.

Not really m8, im putting your recent results alongside others and there not very convincing, a draw at Forest tonight and i would have probably been of a different mindset, but you dont seem to be able to pull the results off you once were able to do under Warnock.

Outplayed by a very good side tonight!

Our passing and movement was shocking, Purse was our best player by a mile again and I'm afraid it looks like a difficult run-in to the end of the season to stay up.

I am surprised that Blackwell doesn't seem to rate Sharp, I thought his movement off the ball was very good and he knows where the back of the net is.

poor tonight and donny definately deserved the points. just couldn't string any passes together and just never got near them when they had the ball. still plenty of time to get the wins we need, if we don't then so be it, i'll still be there to support them.

Unfortunately his movement at the Lane was usually slow and laboured, and his goal return Ched-like. Some players fit into some teams but don't work somewhere else, i'm sure you've had a few examples at S6 too.

We didnt do much after the first 15 mins - Soares and Tuggy should have scored and what a different game it could have been, but they didnt and we all know what happened!!!

Thought Donny played excellent football for half an hour in the first and deserved their lead at half time (even though it was clear handball by Sharp in the build up - what a goal by their centre half!) Second half was very different and was more of a battle and we only had ourselves to blame in the second we were shocking. Gray needs a rest, Esajas needs to start (think he was the only player to go past someone and that came in the 75th min!) our midfield was given a real lesson tonight O'Conner and Potter were dire - as said Purse was our best player

No way Sharp will get credited for the second though was not on target and O'Conner deflected it in

Bring on Ipswich though and I'm confident we'll stay up

p.s - I know we sing 'Worst Support We've Ever Seen' pretty much every game but that WAS the worst ive ever seen from an away support

Regarding the Donny game, did you get the feeling some of the fans were a little overconfident tonight? Certainly on RS the last day or so, there were a number of overly confident owls predicting comfortable 3-0 wins or better, which was a bit surprising when you are still in a dogfight. For your sakes, I hope the players don't think the job's done with the recent wins.

oh my days, missed 2 absolute sitters, we were all cheering they couldnt miss, but oh wait, its wednesday, we were dire, we had 8 defenders and 2 strikers, didnt play a midfield. everytime we got the ball we had no composure and just kicked the ball anywhere, was like a bomb they were kicking around, couldnt get rid any quicker. donny ran rings round us in fairness but it doesnt help when we miss golden chances all the time. bloomin freezing tonight aswell.

With the exception of possibly West Brom, nobody's results have been consistently convincing!

That's what's making this division intersting... or too intersting depending on your position.

Teams have been getting results by being mediocre, and any team who has a good remainder of February and MArch are going to be involved in the play off shake up, and any team who has a bad time in the same period are staring at relegation.

Purse had a good game last night.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Purse is underrated.

Our run of bad form started when he was dropped.

He might not be the best player, and he may make a few mistakes, but he brings organisation.

What was the significant difference last night?

Luck.

We hit the post twice in our two best efforts. On another day they'd have gone in.

Their two best efforts?

The first was the overhead kick. And as there is very little you can do with an overhead kick other than hit and hope, you can say that

a. 9 times out of 10 it would have ended up in the kop
b. on the one occasion it did get on target would have been saved as often as scored.

And the winner was a poxy deflection.

They just got the luck we missed - if we'd had that luck in the first half it would have been a different game.

Having said that, they played the ball round very well - some very skillful movement and possesion, and in the end were worthy winners.

Awful performance last night.

We gave them far too much respect.

Apart from the first 10 minutes of each half we got totally out played, we stood there and watched them pass it around, they had far too much time and space.

We need to play alot better than that on saturday.

I sort of agree, but Donny did dominate the midfield area, our midfield didn't have the composure that they did and we didn't close them down well enough. They had so much room all over the pitch...but never had any clear cut chances...and I think credit has to go to Purse for that.

It's a shame Wednesday lost against Donny, but what is worse is the fans reactions during the game. I work in a turnstile and had to stay open until half time, I found a seat on the south stand to watch the second half but my enjoyment was spoiled when 4 lads were sat right behind me shouting foul and abusive language at the players nearly every minute of the half. They attracted the attention of some stewards who came and stood near them but didn't do anything to stop them.

After about 80 minutes they had had enough and decided to leave, declaring they were not renewing their season tickets for 2010/2011. Good riddance I say, it really spoils the atmosphere of the game when you have to listen to that verbal ****e. Fortunately there were no young children or families near them at the time.
