Does anyone know of a way to disable the annoying and almost deafening fake shutter noise when taking a photo on a Nokia phone?
I can't find anything in phone settings and it isn't covered on the phone's overall volume control.
All options considered.
Martin.
Some countries insist on this being a legal requirement, I believe.
Stops you taking pictures of people that don't know they're being snapped.
Might not be possible.

have to agree with Joe p , i think its to stop the little snap shots in the changing rooms etc without people knowing.
i can remember some leisure centres complaining a few years ago.
You can do it on the 6230. Go to media/camera/settings/camera sounds. Dont know if its the same on other Nokia models though.

User Guide for the 7600 (http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,56324,00.html) says that it is the same:
Camera sounds to set the shutter and self-timer sounds on or off. The shutter sound is heard when you take a photo. The self-timer sound is heard when theself-timer is running.
If it's anything like my Philips 535 then just muting the ringer silences the shutter.
