Can anyone recommend a nice out of town pub so I can take the girlfriend out for Sunday dinner and romantic walk in countryside etc etc. Sickening I know but you gotta do these things every now and again

Seriously good food and LOADS of it. Very popular. Very small. Go Early. - The Castle in Castleton. - Cheddar Chesse in Hope. - Chequers near Froggat Edge. Beachboy 26-12-2003, 11:36 Unsure how helpful this will be but, there is a fantastic pub on route to Derwent Valley. Can't remember its name but its on the main road leading into it. Just follow signs (A47 to Glossop). As you come toward Derwent Valley on right hand side is a fairly large, grotty looking pub. However once you get in side it's very nice and in summer the gardens are great for eating out in. The food is unbelievable. I'll see if I can get hold of a name/place. max 26-12-2003, 13:00 Originally posted by Beachboy Unsure how helpful this will be but, there is a fantastic pub on route to Derwent Valley. I'm guessing you mean The Ladybower on the A57. Alternatively, keep going towards Glossop until you get to The Snake Inn. nomme 26-12-2003, 18:40 Originally posted by max I'm guessing you mean The Ladybower on the A57.
