Did anyone watch Silent Witness tonight?
What did people make of it? I watch it now and then. But tonight it seemed to have the classic paranoid schizophrenic runs around stabbing people, bit of a stereotypical story line. What does this do to people's attitude to schizophrenia, and does it contribute to a culture of ignorance and fear?
The program felt the need to input an explanation of schizophrenia, which didn't add to the storyline, more like they were trying to be PC about it.
I wonder when the BBC is going to do a documentary about schizophrenia
to balance the drama. And give a more realistic and non-stereotypical view. Perhaps it will be years yet.
