The lad I think was called Danny and lived down Rudyard Rd, he was playing on the outside toilet/midin roof which was about 9in thick concrete when it collapsed.

Its over thirty years ago I'm sure, and I think the building was an air raid shelter.
There was a piece in the STAR so I would have a look in the archives.

Thats right psyko, the cottages have been pulled down now.I used to play in them when they were empty when I was a kid.The cottages faced the lane, the toilets/midin were to the right of the cottages.I remember looking in the midin and see,ing a big mound of crap.

It was an accident, just kids messing around,as they do. It could bring back some nightmares for some by bringing it up again as the ones that were there are still alive.
If you must look into it check the inquest records, you can see them now as it's over thirty years.

It was indeed David and the other boy was Stephen from Wybourn. I can send you details if you wish on private chat. I was 13 at the time and present at the accident. Cheers.

Hi foggyowls. Yes, quite right. I was with Stephen and David when it happened. I was with my little sister who was 9 at the time and my friends. I know David's brother really well and he has a sister. The day is imprinted on my mind. I'll never ever forget them both.
