An internal moderator is one who already works for your school (teacher), college (lecturer), company (trainer) etc.

An external moderator comes from outside your organisation as an impartial assessor/examiner and has no connection with those being assessed or examined.

External Moderator = Bill Gates
Internal moderator = Kristian

Your question is not very clear.

Both course-work and final exams can be both internally and/or externally moderated.
At school coursework is usually marked by the teacher of the pupil concerned. - "Internal Moderator"
At school GCSE/A Levels final exam papers are marked (moderated) by professional markers - "External Moderators".

At University/College an art students coursework can quite easily be assessed by an external examiner.
At University final exams may be marked by ones own lecturers with a sample checked outside the department.
