Sheffield Scimitars v Peterborough Phantoms - Saturday 6th February, 7.30pm
Sheffield Scimitars face off against Peterborough Phantoms this Saturday at iceSheffield in the sixth and final encounter between the two teams in the regular season.
The Scimitars are 3-2 ahead in the series having won the first three and lost the last two games.
With Scimitars lying just one place ahead of Peterborough but equal on points it means that a Scimitars' win is much needed in this home game. Also a change of head coach at Peterborough last week will ensure two very determined teams on the ice competing for the points.
Canadian Doug Irwin was released last week after a disappointing season so far, with many inconsistent performances and injuries for last season's Grand Slam Phantoms. The former assistant coach Tim Peacock has stepped up but not with the best of starts as Phantoms lost to Swindon at home in their only game last weekend.
Games between these two teams are always fast and entertaining, with James Morgan adding extra entertainment for the home fans. With 17 games left in the season, every successive match is gaining in importance for each team's final league position, and this one is no different.
Tickets available on the night: Adult £8.50, Child £4.00, Concession £6.00, Family £20.00
