hi there just wondered if anyone can help when i go on google( not chrome) i get loads of adverts max something or other, tried malware but it wont get rid ,any suggestions please

Are they pop ups? Do you have a pop up blocker working?

no they are not pop ups and my pop up blocker is on thanks.

Then you need to be more specific. Is it changing your page, opening new pages? More info please.

You could try super anti spyware (free tool) for removing it.

yes i go onto google type in sheff forum the list comes up of sf i then click on the one i normally do and it then pauses and then a stupid ad comes up albeit with sf in there hope this helps

This sounds more like pop ups than mal/spyware. Unless you are getting an icon in the bottom left system tray saying you are infected. Any chance you can post a screen shot?

There are a number of infections that cause google (or other search engine) redirects.

Some are browser specific eg: the redirects only occur using Firefox.

Others are non-browser specific and are supported by rootkits to hide their presence and/or hook/infect critical system files right at the very start of the boot up process.

Specialist tools are needed to first identify the infection and then to remove it safely without causing damage to system files that may cause the PC to fail to boot up.

One of the many HijackThis forums Listed here (http://hjt-data.trendmicro.com/hjt/analyzethis/) should be able to help you remove this.

yes im sorted now thanks it looks as if the super spyware thing did it, in addition i was wrong. it didnt fix it the virus, i think was google re direct, so as advised i went on the "geeks to go" website and used their self cleaning fix and so far it has worked
