We have been decorating for the last 4 weeks, and finally got it all finished at the weekend when the new carpet and underlay was fitted.
Woke up Sunday morning, and my 8 month old kitten had been sick all over the carpet in the living room!!
Woke up this morning, and the same again.
He has never been sick before in the house when the old carpet was down - just seems odd that he starts being really sicky as soon as our new carpet is fitted.
He's not off colour, we've not changed his food, he's still well on his food and drinking as normal. Could there be a link to having the new carpet fitted and him suddenly starting to be sick at all?
Possobly picking up the small fibres that come off new carpets
and throwing them up like fur balls/
Or possibly the smell or any chemical fumes from new carpet ?
Can you put him in a diferent room ?
Unfortunately not - our house is open plan, so between the kitchen and living room through to the top of the stairs there aren't any doors to lock him out of it. So it would be a case of locking the poor bugger in the cold porch, or locking him in one of the bedrooms.
Hi, It could be the rubber backing on the underlay.... Have you got any off cuts you can test your cat with. Just let them have a sniff them.
My cat is instantly sick if you let her sniff the empty packet from a ferrero rocher. Its the little blob of glue in the bottom that affects her
We haven't any off cuts of the underlay, they got tipped on Saturday after the carpet had been fitted. Its in the morning thats he's being sick, just before we get out of bed cos my hubby has heard him. Must be the carpet or underlay, but what can I do about them?! They've cost us a blumming fortune!!

This is certainly a difficult one! The only thing I can think of is to have the carpet steam cleaned (no chemicals) in the hopes that it might remove anything in the carpet that's upsetting him. Or you could try hoovering it a lot!
It is strange that it's only in the morning, though. Where does he spend the day - is he inside or outside?
He's outside in the day, curls up on the sofa in the evening and sleeps at the bottom of the bed all night. It is literally just before our alarm goes off.
Might be tempting fate though, but we've not woken up to anything for the last 2 mornings. Fingers crossed!!

Oooh - good news! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, too.
