Hello All - my first post to the forum!

I have an aging Philips shaver and the rechargable battery has finally given up the ghost. Is there anywhere local I could get it sorted out?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum beeper. Now the bad news, you will probably be quoted as much for the repair of the razor as a new one would cost, so bin it and buy a new un. :P

Why not have a look inside yourself?

If the battery pack looks like 2 or 3 AA or AAA batteries wrapped together with a connector coming out, then the odds are that you can find a replacement at somewhere like Maplins.

Thanks for the speedy reply.

I had a look in Coles yesterday and an equivalent model would be about 80 quid. I can't believe a new battery would cost that much!

If all else fails I'll have the thing apart and see what Bardwells can do for me.

You could ask here (http://www.feedback.philips.com/support/?country=GB&language=en) or phone John Lewis and ask who the local repair agent is.

There's a place in the market up the stairs at the left as you look at it from from wilco. They're the Sheffield Philishave experts and are very good. I had a problem with mine some time ago, rang Philishave and they advised me to take it there.

Quite cheap too, in fact they did mine for free!

By the time the OP has finished faffing about, #10 on a new one will make more sense.
