I used to live right next to both Halls (on Edmund Road), and had mates at Charlotte Court.
It weren't very nice... They've all left the halls for houses.
The neighbouhood itself is OK, but the halls...

I would suggest you do the same, Highfield has many, many, if not only student houses on Edmund, Lancing, Duchess, Charlotte Roads, Shoreham, John Streets.

Now I have a double bed, cable Internet, cable TV, a garden with a patio all for a quarter of the price of what you pay for at Charlotte and without the inconvenience of the 4 keys needed to get in my room !

you probabaly won't get a choice they will just allocate you to one. I have heard that both are ok. With halls you generally get what you pay for.

I lived at Bramall Court about 4 years ago, when they were new. Accommodation was good then. Each flat had 6 ensuite bedrooms and 1 of these was a double.

When I was there the location wasn't great as there wasn't much nearby. Now that they've built all of those new flats just down the road I bet they'll be lots more going on and lots more people around.

Living in halls is a great way to meet people - I would definately recommend living in halls for your first year, then moving into a house with the friends that you make during your first year.

Can't tell you much about Charlotte Halls - I assume they must be pretty new cos I'm sure they weren't around when I was!

There is a good room in Highfields sharing with 4 others. Broadband connection, cable TV - Kerrang et al, pleasant crowd.
£200 per month. Call Tom 07731364992.

Hi,

I lived in Charlotte Court last year and really enjoyed it. In each flat of 6 there was one doubled bed room that included a double sized bathroom. We also got the use of broadband for free and the rooms were just perfect for your first year as a student.

I would recommend them.
