i thought he could have had a revival at wednesday but hes gone to charlton now. what a joke, giving him away on loan until his contract runs out, bad move, rather keep him at hillsborough until his contract runs out. no pace up front at all now.

Cheer up Hurstyowl, Varney has pace to burn and he knows where the net is. Sodje his fair share of injuries, how many times has he been available in the time we have had him? Good luck to him at Charlton, but I don't think he will last long there.

38 games and 9 goals in 2.5yrs just isnt good enough ... everyone (well not blades lol!) wanted it too work out for Sodje and SWFC but it just wasnt to be, hope he gets back to his best and good luck to him

heard rumours of Paul Dickov joinin us if we can free up funds, with sodje gone that might just happen ... Dickov is a free agent also so can sign after the deadline...

If it's pace you're after, look no further than JJ and Varney.
I know JJ's out, and they probably couldn't play with each other, but if the need arose, and the opportunity, AI would spot it, and could pair the two up front. These 2 would burn anybody off.
Decent return from Varney, let's hope he keeps it up.

i would still rather have kept him we need all the strikers we can get, if he was going to go why not sell him

I'm glad he's gone, the number of times I've given way to him as I've been going uphill and he's come onto my side of the road without even a nod of the head to say thanks!

Ignorant git!

I'm not too bothered about Sodje leaving. He was way overrated. The only decent games he had was that season opener against Burnely, the 2-0 win over United and Plymouth away. Pity he couldn't replicate that most of the time, though injuries hampered him.

i nearly got ran over by him lol

we havent really got strikers firing us heaps of goals though have we. varney may have got 2 against plymouth but he doesnt score that often. its worrying to see we only beat the lesser teams of the division by such a narrow margin.

It would have been nice to see the Sodje what we all know he's capable of being, the fact of the matter is, is he's too inconsistent.
And only shows signs of the Burnley game on very rare occasions.
For that reason im not too bothered that he's gone, his first touch is shocking and he's obviously not the player we first signed.
Good luck to him like but i reckon he'll end up being a league two player before long.

i can't see him doing much for us anyway so maybe using his wage for a striker that could score some goals is a better idea. sodje would of only played a couple of games before he gets injured anyway.

Has he set off yet?

If he can hang on 10 minutes until i've finished my tea I will drive him there myself!

take leon clarke with you see if you can drop him off somewhere on your way, and if you've still got room left squeeze old jug ears in as well

Clarke does a lot of the dirty work when he plays, he works very hard and doesnt get the credit he deserves, he was the man of the match when he came on against Blackpool when JJ got injured.

sadly those types of performances are few and far between and the only credit I would give him is for being a big useless lazy waste of space!!

Until the powers what be come and give us some coin where not going to get much better, he's certainly better than lugoils and Sodje thats a cert, at least he isnt in a love triangle with the Physio.
Clarke is a handfull if nothing else and by the look of Irvines tactics Clarke will fit in just right.
