How bad is the cut? If its a nick then dont worry just keep it clean and your pup will be fine. If its a tear, that is bleeding heavily, that you think needs stitching, then you need a vet. Vets dont stitch pads but they can glue them.

If the bleeding has stopped then dont worry, it will be fine.

http://www.peakvets.co.uk/

Think you may need to register with them on the phone?

the cut is like a triangle shape, not all that deep i would say around 5mm deep.
it has stopped bleeding thankfully.

i think i am worrying too much but im unsure.

can they heal by themselves or is a vet the best bet?? i have pet insurance so hopefull the bill won't be sky high.

arghh :(

If it has stopped bleeding then there is no panic and it will heal by itself. Just keep it clean and if you really do want to bandage overnight then please make sure its not tight, just secure. I cant see a 15 week old puppy having a bandage on for long though:hihi:

Don't worry :) As Gemima says, if it's stopped bleeding it's not too big a deal. Do try to keep it clean and bathe with salt water (1tspn of salt to 1pint of water so it doesn't sting) and try not to let her get it muddy til it's healed.

The worst that can happen is it gets infected but that shouldn't happen if you keep it clean and it's not too deep :)

Glad to hear puppy is ok.

Just wondered, others may not agree but maybe worth a trip to vets just for a check.

To be honest, when mine did this years ago (when I was with the first lot of vets) I didn't take her at first, but took her a few days later. They told me off for not going in the first place (it was a weekend) and then said 'well it's only at the same stage as it would be if we'd done anything so there's nothing we can do'.

Cost me £25 to be told that I should've gone in earlier and been charged for treatment that wouldn't have done any good!

thanks everyone for the advice..
JJ is fine now, took her to the vets and they checked her paw over and gave it a good clean and said it was nothing to worry about but good that we went in with her being so young.

she's fine now, just keeping it clean.

once again thanks.
