I have checked on the web and there are plenty of sites offering software for DVD to Mpeg4 conversions, but not the other way. Can anyone help me out here?

View Full Version : How do I convert Mpeg4 files to DVD? LordChaverly 14-08-2005, 17:53 I have checked on the web and there are plenty of sites offering software for DVD to Mpeg4 conversions, but not the other way. Can anyone help me out here? rich951 14-08-2005, 19:51 I use TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress (http://www.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/te3xp.html) for converting most things to mpeg2 for dvd, then TMPGEnc DVD Author (http://www.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tda.html) to author those into a dvd (and nero to write it)... There are lots and lots of mpeg encoders out there though. LordChaverly 14-08-2005, 20:00 Thanks Rich, much appreciated. ANGELUS 14-08-2005, 21:08 I think WINAvi does it.. thats a good software to have. I know it converts AVI & MPEG files in to DVD VIDEO ready to burn files in under 30 mins!! alchresearch 14-08-2005, 23:08 VSO also do DivX to DVD: http://www.vso-software.fr/ Rich 15-08-2005, 16:22 Very useful thread this, I'm looking for something to convert a load of *cough* downloaded vids *cough* from AVI to MPEG format so I can burn to DVD and watch them on the telly through the DVD player in the lounge.. And no, before you ask the videos are NOT porn even though I am old enough. sccsux 15-08-2005, 16:58 Originally posted by Rich I'm looking for something to convert a load of *cough* downloaded vids *cough* from AVI to MPEG. #1 Video Convertor (http://videotox.com/) is a nice piece of shareware that'll do what your asking (and more). There's a free trial available for download, though the fully licenced version is only $29.95 (about £16.50). alchresearch 16-08-2005, 17:35 I've just bought one of the Tevion DivX DVD players from Aldi for £32 and can't recommend it enough. It plays just about anything you throw at it, be it on DVD / CD R or RW. The DivX playback is absolutely awesome! It may be a good investment if you have a lot of video files and don't want to waste time and lose quality re-encoding them back to DVD again. |
