Their was Elsie, Ivy, Connie and Edna, she married a Brookes I think Albert not sure, Can anyone Help. hillsbro 31-01-2010, 17:58 Hi - I didn't know the family, but can confirm that an Edna Bird (born Apr-Jun 1916) married a Harold Brook in Sheffield in Jan-Mar 1936. Mrs Lavinia Bird is listed at 66 Oak Street in the 1925 directory. heeleytrev 01-02-2010, 08:14 Hi - Brill, edna was my mam's sister, Harold and Edna had a daughter jacky. Mrs lavinia Bird must have been my mothers Mother, I know the lived on the same side and nearly next to the Royal Oak pub. Do u know any more about this family. Cheers Trev heeleytrev 01-02-2010, 09:34 Hi again, can you tell me what the 1925 directory is. Cheers Trev. hillsbro 01-02-2010, 14:00 ... Harold and Edna had a daughter jacky... Hi Trev - yes, Jacqueline C. Brook was born in Sheffield in Oct-Dec 1945. It seems likely that she was the Jacqueline C. Brook who married Ernest M. Condon in Sheffield in Oct-Dec 1964....Do u know any more about this family... No - only what I can find from online resources, and what I have available. I do have the 2003 electoral roll on a CD, which shows an Ernest M. and Jacqueline C. Condon living near Heeley - if you'd like the address, PM me as soon as you have 5 posts.Hi again, can you tell me what the 1925 directory is. Cheers Trev.It is a "Kelly's Directory" - they were published for all the larger towns and cities until the mid-1970s, and apart from functioning as a sort of 'Yellow Pages' for businesses etc, they list all the inhabitants, street-by-street, as well as gving details of local council services etc. They can be hard to find in hardcopy form, but some have been scanned and made available for family history enthusiasts etc. Here is a link (http://youroldbooksandmaps.co.uk/kellys-directory-of-rotherham-and-sheffield-1925.html). |
